Montreal Police Investigate Possible Gay Bashing, GLAAD Honours 30 Rock, The Denver Post, and Ricky Martin, Playgirl Withdraws Offer To Stalk Anderson Cooper Nude, Playgirl Makes Up With Calvin Klein Boyfriend Nick Gruber, Foo Fighter’s Dave Grohl Tells Ryan Murphy To “Fuck Himself”

The Montreal Gazette is reporting that a twenty-something man was in critical condition with a fractured skull Sunday following a beating in the city’s Gay Village. Police said a dispute started in a bar near St. Timothée and Ste. Catherine St. about 1:45 a.m. and that everyone was asked to leave the bar. “It continued outside,” Montreal police Constable Anie Lemieux said, adding that three individuals were later arrested. Police think the beating might be street-gang related. More details are expected shortly.

Reuters reports on the 22 annual GLAAD Awards held Saturday night in New York City, Ricky Martin among those honoured for his work as a role model at a gala held on Saturday where he urged people to spread gay rights throughout Latin America. Martin, bestowed the Vito Russo Award, named for the late gay activist and film historian, said "I just want to be free. I can say, today I am free." The 39 year old Puerto Rican singer following the birth of twin boys via a surrogate in 2008, decided to come out, a process that included a poignant interview with Oprah Winfrey. Martin thanked his parents and boyfriend before urged the audience to "let's go Latin America and let's share the love." Tina Fey accepted the outstanding individual episode award for the 30 Rock episode Klaus and Greta, and music mogul Russell Simmons received an excellence award for breaking boundaries in the world of hip-hop music. HBO’s True Blood won outstanding drama series, while The Oprah Winfrey Show claimed best talk show episode for Ricky Martin Coming Out as a Gay Man and a New Dad. Other winners included the CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 for his coverage of gay youth suicides, The New Jersey Star-Ledger for its coverage of the tragic suicide of Rutgers’ freshman Tyler Clementi and The Denver Post for overall coverage. The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, which promotes positive images of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the media, will present additional media awards in Los Angeles on April 10th and San Francisco on May 14th, and a complete list of last night’s winners available here.

E! Online.com reports that the offer made by Playgirl’s Daniel Nardicio to pay $10,000 to anyone who could provide a nude photo of Anderson Cooper for the magazine's list of the Top 10 Guys We Want to See Naked feature for an upcoming issue has been taken off the table. Last week Nardicio told Popeater.com that "He's got this charisma that a lot of our readers are attracted to. Plus now he's all muscled, [so] he's not only smart but also hot. Both our male and female readers love Anderson."The offer was made a day after someone followed Jake Gyllenhaal into a bathroom in Austin, Texas, and attempted to photograph the actor at the urinal, which allegedly led to a minor brawl, and that incident appears to have motivated Nardicio to drop what was an odd, unsavoury plan. "I got some guys who claimed they had pics of Anderson's goods, but then I did a gut check and the whole affair seemed unseemly," Nardicio said, who added "I changed my mind and took the offer off the table, considering Anderson is in Japan reporting and in light of the whole Jake Gyllenhaal urinal stalker."

Meanwhile, Michael Musto, at The Village Voice reports that Daniel Nardicio was involved in an acrimonious war of words Calvin Klein's young boyfriend, former/future gay porn star Nick Gruber, about appearing nude in Playgirl. When things took a nasty turn, Nardicio said to Gruber via the media, "In three years, when Klein gets tired of blowing you, you'll be just another bottle blond looking for work, so you should be more respectful of people trying to give you work." According to Musto, now Nardicio says that remark was unnecessary and has since apologized to Gruber, the two now friends again.

David Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) is neither a fan or Glee nor its creator, Ryan Murphy, Grohl telling The Hollywood Reporter “It’s every band’s right, you shouldn’t have to do fucking Glee. And then the guy who created Glee is so offended that we’re not, like, begging to be on his fucking show… fuck that guy for thinking anybody and everybody should want to do Glee.” Grohl says he tried to watch the show, without success. “I watched 10 minutes. It’s not my thing,” said Grohl. Recounting a nasty battle between Murphy and Slash earlier this year, Grohl explained to drummer Taylor Hawkins “The Glee guy, what a fucking jerk. Slash was the first one. He wanted to do Guns ‘n’ Roses and Slash is like, ‘I hate fucking musicals. It’s worse than Grease.’ Then [Murphy's] like, ‘Well, of course he’d say that, he’s a washed up ol’ rock star, that’s what they fucking do.’ And then Kings of Leon say, ‘No, we don’t want to be on your show.’ And then he’s like, ‘Snotty little assholes…’ And it’s just like, Dude, maybe not everyone loves Glee. Me included.”Added Hawkins, “Yeah, fuck that shit.”
