Despite Having Confessed Portuguese Male Model Renato Seabra Pleads Not Guilty To Murdering Lover Carlos Castro
21 year old Renato Seabra appeared in a New York City court room Tuesday, and despite having confessed to the sadistic killing of 65 year old Carlos Castro, pleaded not guilty to one count of second-degree murder, according to the Daily News. Seabra, a male model and Castro, a journalist and gay activist, had flown to New York from Portugal arriving in late December to spend New Year’s in the city. Despite denials that he is gay, Seabra and Castor were considered a couple; Seabra, during his confession to police, saying he attacked Castro to rid him of his “homosexual demons.” Tuesday, in court, details of the January 7th murder were revealed, court papers stating that the attack took place for a full hour, Seabra grabbing Castor from behind, grabbing him by the neck, dragging him to the floor, and choking him. According to court papers, “He stabbed Carlos with a corkscrew in the groin area and the face. (He) cut off Carlos's testicles with the corkscrew." Seabra then hit Castro over the head with a computer monitor, then, with his shoes, stomped on Castro’s face. He then crudely castrated Castro using a corkscrew. Finished, Seabra showered, changed into a suit, and left the couple’s suite at the InterContinental Hotel. He took a taxi to an area hospital, where he was soon arrested. Seabra’s attorney, David Touger, says he plans a “vigorous defence.” Seabra is scheduled to appear in court again March 4th.
