Christian General Practitioner Dismissed From British Drug Advisory Council After Failing To Disclose Authorship Of Article Linking Homosexuality To Pedophilia
The Telegraph reports that a Christian General Practitioner, Hans-Christian Raabe has been fired from as a Government drug advisor weeks into the new role after it was revealed that authored a study linking homosexuality to pedophilia. As previous posted, he was appointed to the Advisory Council of the Misuse of Drugs less than one month ago, but the move was greeted with opposition, not only for his dangerous anti-gay beliefs, but because of his equally dangerous views on drug use and prevention; views that seemed to rely less on scientific evidence and more on religious beliefs. At the time of his appointment, Raabe had been required to inform the government of anything in his past that might cause embarrassment to the council or the government, Raabe never mentioning his role co-writing “’Gay Marriage’ and homosexuality: Some medical comments." That article, propaganda pretending to be science, suggested that there exists a correlation between homosexuality and pedophilia since “Greek mythology is saturated with stories of pedophilia and ancient Greek literature praises pedophilia.” Raabe spoke to the Daily Mail about his dismissal and said “I have been discriminated against because of my opinions and beliefs which are in keeping with the teaching of the major Churches. This sets a dangerous precedent: Are we saying that being a Christian is now a bar to public office? My appointment has been revoked based on the wrong perception that I could potentially discriminate against gay people – something I have never done; neither in my private nor professional life. Even the Home Office has not questioned my knowledge and expertise in matters relating to substance misuse and drug policy. My appointment has merely been revoked as a result of my views on matters completely unrelated to drug policy.”
