Sarah Palin Perhaps Re-Tweeted Support Of Repeal Of United States Military Policy Prohibiting Openly Gay Service Personal Or Offered Another Example Of How Confused She Is By The Simplest Of Statements

CNN reports that a re-tweet by failed Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin of the openly gay conservative Tammy Bruce, an active member of the Republican gay advocacy arm GOProud, has created, um, confusion. Bruce, criticising the continuing condemnation by Republicans regarding the repeal of the United States military policy prohibiting openly gay service personal, posting “But this hypocrisy is just truly too much. Enuf already – the more someone complains about the homos the more we should look under their bed.” After Palin re-posted the original post, Bruce tweeted “I think @SarahPalinUSA RT my tweet is her first comment on DADT, treatment of gays & attempts to marginalize us – that you Governor.” Unfortunately (or, perhaps, typically being the better word), the ambiguity behind Palin’s re-tweet remains, so it is unclear what the former Alaskan governor and presumptive Republican candidate for president meant, but there is a temptation by observers to interpret the re-tweet as an indication that Palin is suddenly shifting to a pro-gay stance, although, given Palin publically suggested that the repeal of the gay military ban was not a priority, and that she expressed surprise President Obama spent so much time and resources obtaining a repeal, it is possible that Bruce’s original tweet confused Palin, as she is want to be.
