When Justin Bieber Met John Waters

Friday, Justin Bieber, in England to promote, well, Justin Bieber, made a public appearance outside an Indian restaurant marked by odd facial hair, a black, pencil-lined moustache, and now the Baltimore Sun explains. It seems Bieber and Baltimore’s own John Waters were both guest’s on The Graham Norton Show Friday, Bieber joining Waters, who was there promoting his delightful new work, Role Models. It seems that Justin, after being introduced, asked if he could say something. Leaning across to Waters at the end of the couch, he said to John “Your ‘stache is the jam.” Waters, obviously smitten, said, “Thank you, thank you very much.” He then pulled an eyebrow pencil from his pocket, handed it to Bieber, and said, “If you want to try it ... Can I draw it on you?” Bieber accepted the pen, but declined Waters’’ offer, saying, somewhat salaciously, “I’m good. Maybe later.” Backstage, Bieber drew on his version of the moustache, one that Waters is on record as saying was inspired by Little Richard. Waters said of the facial hair, “It really made me laugh when I saw it. It was the last thing I expected.” John admits to being a fan, owning Justin’s first album, adding “I'm a fan of the whole phenomenon — being 16 and so famous you can't leave your house," Waters said. "I think he's the only person that can cause an international incident by trimming his bangs. I hope that his hair is cut hourly." He also said that while on the show, he managed to get Bieber to sign a bottle of Proactiv, the anti-acne treatment the 16 year old endorses, Waters saying that he not only admires the teen’s bangs, but the ability to keep his forehead blemish free beneath the bangs.” I am the only person in the entire world that owns an autographed, Justin Bieber-approved pimple medicine," Waters said. "I'm going to keep it. Are you kidding? I'm going to display it — and if I ever get a pimple, maybe I'll use it."
