Male Model Charles DeVoe Died As Result Of Surfing Accident

The New York Daily News is reporting that male model Charles DeVoe, whose death was announced Friday, had been hospitalized since November 12th, when he suffered a surfing accident in the Rockaways. He had fallen into a coma and never regained consciousness. New York City Fire Department officials had to cut DeVoe free after his ankle tether became tangled on a wooden pole. He was in the water for several minutes before rescuers could reach him. DeVoe’s agent, Jason Kanner, said Charles was “a lovely kid who was respected and loved by many.” DeVoe, a native of Philadelphia, moved to New York City after graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder. His family said that the young man was always interested in “adventurous sports” and that he will be “greatly missed.”
