Larry Kramer On The President: “Mr. Do-Nothing Obama Not A Leader”
Larry Kramer, on Wednesday, World AIDS Day, was interviewed by the New York Daily News, and the 75 year old Kramer, an angry, but necessary gay rights activist, talked about aging while living with HIV, about his long promised sprawling work of fiction on America and AIDS, and the (non) search for a cure for HIV, and pharmaceutical companies. He also discussed President Obama, and not in the best of terms. Said Kramer “Mr. Do-Nothing Obama will say today ‘Let us think of all the poor dead people’- or ‘let’s honour all the dead’ instead of fighting for the living. He has been really useless in terms of both HIV and gay issues. An exceedingly large disappointment to me, how useless he has been. He is simply not a leader. He may be president, but he is not a leader.”
