City Of Atlanta Settles Suit With 19 Plaintiffs Searched And Detained At Eagle Bar, American Family Association Bryan Fischer Articulates More Anti-Gay Hate, John Waters' Christmas Moments, Bisexual Blind Item, Josh Duhamel Behaves Badly, Darren Criss Shirtless, Chace Crawford, Matt Lanter

The city of Atlanta, Georgia has reached a settlement with the 19 plaintiffs searched and detained during a botched raid of the Atlanta Eagle Bar in September, 2009, the Journal-Constitution reporting that an attorney for the plaintiffs, Dan Grossman, confirmed an agreement but could not comment on the specifics per the instructions of federal Magistrate Judge Alan J. Baverman. The city will pay an unspecified financial settlement and, perhaps more importantly, oversee reforms within the police department. The City Council must still approve the settlement and neither side can comment until that is completed. Grossman said that “"It's unfortunate we need a federal judge to make our police department follow the law, since [police] don't think they did something wrong they're going to do it again."

Bryan Fisher, the director of issues analysis for government and public policy at the American Family Association, recently awarded a hate crime status by the Southern Poverty Law Center continues to articulate an abhorrent anti-gay hate, now contending that homosexuals, not tax payers, should pay for HIV/AIDS research since, according to Fischer “homosexual activist groups ... are pushing a lifestyle that kills. If anybody should be obligated to pony up funds to mitigate a health crisis, it ought to be the organizations that are responsible for advocating the very behaviour that created and perpetuates the epidemic.”

John Waters wants to make his holiday movie, Fruitcake, but tells the Chicago Tribune that he is having trouble securing financing for the film, a heart-warming tale of a little boy and his family of meat thieves, Waters explaining “We have them in Baltimore. They come knock on your door and say,‘Meat man!’ and you say, ‘I’ll take three porterhouse steaks and a ham,’ They shoplift it and bring it back, and you half the price that’s on label.” Waters, currently on tour with “A John Waters Christmas,” says "Independent films that cost $5 million are very hard to get made. I sold the idea, got a development deal, got paid a great salary to write it — and now the company is no longer around, which is the case with many independent film companies these days."

From Ted Casablanca a blind item that is, um, a tad too obvious. (Well, obvious in that there is connected to above item.)

TMZ.com reports that Thursday Josh Duhamel, onboard a flight from New York City to Kentucky, was asked to turn off his Blackberry three separate times prior to takeoff, the third time he laughed at the flight attendant. That reaction reportedly angered the flight attendant, who promptly called for assistance and for the plane to return to the gate. There, two officers boarded and removed Duhamel. Passengers said the actor was “very rude” and had been “taunting the attendant.” According to his representative, Duhamel was texting that the plane was delayed, and that he was “sorry” for his actions.
