Transgender Woman Sues Portland Oregon Claiming Police Officer Groped And Harassed Her
27 year old transgendered Chloe Lucero is suing the city of Portland, Oregon for more $200,000, claiming that a police officer grabbed her breast and genitalia during a search rather than wait until a female officer arrived, the Oregonian reports. Kevin Macho pulled over Lucero November 2nd, 2008 as she was returning from a birthday brunch with family, and according to the suit, screamed “Give me the bottle,” then opened the driver’s side door, pulled Lucero by her left arm, and attempted to remove her from the vehicle. Despite no evidence of a bottle or that she had been drinking, Macho shoved her against the car, examined her licence, and began to search her “viciously and hurtfully.” The suit contends that the officer then wrote her a ticket for failing to signal, driving in the wrong lane, and failing to yield, and told her to “plead guilty because he hated going to court and would make Chloe’s life miserable if he had to appear.” The suit states that Lucero “is male in appearance” but that her driver’s license indentifies her as female, and that Macho was aware of the designation.
