Nightline Explores Gay Repartition Therapy Retreat, Doctor Gardere Apologises For CNN Comments, Jane Lynch Glee Pride, Real World Las Vegas Participant A Gay Porn Star, One Direction Louis Tomlinson Flashes

ABC’s Nightline Monday aired an exclusive piece on a retreat located in New Caney, Texas, where, for 48 hours men from across America come to learn how to deal with unwanted same sex attractions, the weekend titled “Journey to Manhood.” The retreat was founded by David Matheson, a councillor and Rich Wyler, who calls himself a life coach, in 2002, and it caters to men, according to Matheson for whom gay “is never going to work. That kind of life and that kind of living is never going to gel – ever –with their value system. For those men, that’s why we exist, so that they can have another way, another approach of dealing with their sexual feelings.” Wyler adds that the retreat and the behaviours taught, “can be dramatically transformative in a short amount of time,” although both he and Matheson are careful to add that their clients will not transition from gay to straight immediately, the goal to give the men a foundation so that they work on creating the change over time. The weekend’s cost $650 and are held in 12 states across America and in England as a part of an outreach program called “People Can Change,” and is built on a non-scientific thesis that individuals can change their sexual orientation if they work at it.

GLAAD announces that Doctor Jeff Gardere, a clinical psychologist, has apologised for and clarified comments he made on-air Friday morning during a CNN segment alongside anchor Kiran Chetry, interviewing Sarah, the Missouri mother of the five year boy whose choice of Halloween costume – Daphne from Scooby-Doo – led to a public ridiculing by parents at the boy’s Christian pre-school. Gardere, as previously posted, made alarming awkward comments to the mother, criticising her for “outing” the boy, and also said that is the “worst nightmare” of both gay and straight parents “to have to fathom that their child might be gay.” Gardere said he “misspoke” and that what he meant to say was that “many gay and straight parents I’ve worked with have voiced concern when they believed they had a gay child because they worried that their children might face hostility and bullying from people who are anti-gay.” He added that the comments about “outing” the boy referred to Sarah posting a picture of the boy dressed in the chosen costume. He concluded that “this mother has been very courageous in supporting her child. Her acceptance and unconditional love set an example for other parents in how to raise happy and healthy children.”

Jane Lynch, in London where the Emmy-winning Glee star was attending the BAFTA Britannia Awards, tells On The Red Carpet that she is so proud of the show’s attempts to promoted the acceptance and inclusion of gay youth characters, saying “Anytime you can make kids, especially out in the far reaches, where maybe they’re not embraced for having a particular sexual orientation, to give them role models, and hope, and to see this kind of idealized world where people stick up for each other and they are as strongest as their weakness link, and if someone is being made fun of, they rally behind them, I love that.”

MTV’s The Real World cast member Dustin Zito has a generous gay porn past, the 24 year old Lamar University graduate is currently filming Real World: Back to Las Vegas, and while it is not known if Zito is gay or straight, a selection of his online shows he, um, likes men, a lot. His work at Fratman.com, where he was Spencer, confirms that. (NSFW)

18 year old Louis Tomlinson – he of the boy band One Direction, currently contestants on X Factor – plays a prank, apparently, which involved wearing a hospital gown and revealing a pair of quite tight boxer briefs.
