Log Cabin Republicans File Emergency Application Asking Supreme Court To Dismiss Ninth Circuit Court Of Appeals Stay On Gay Military Ban And End Enforcement Of DADT Discharges

Friday, attorneys for the Log Cabin Republican filed an emergency request with the Supreme Court asking to reverse the ruling by Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to allow the military to continue to enforcing the policy that prohibits openly gay service members while the Department of Justice appeals the lower court ruling that the law known as “don’t ask, don’t tell” is unconstitutional, CNN reporting that high court appeal – an application – in now with Justice Anthony Kennedy, who will likely ask his eight colleagues to aid in rendering a decision. R. Clarke Cooper, the executive director of the Log Cabin Republicans said “It is unfortunate the Obama Justice Department has forced the Log Cabin Republicans to go to the Supreme Court.”
