Ian McKellen States Obvious Saying Stars Are Pressured To Stay Closeted, Ke$ha And Katy Perry Sing New Gay Anthems But Jake Shears Asks “What Happens To The Gays If It Goes Out Of Style,” Beautiful Brazilian Diego C., Todd Sanfield Can Barely Be Contained By Underwear Of His Own Design, Prince Harry Pink Boxer Peek, A Suitable Prince Harry

The openly gay Sir Ian McKellen, at the Savannah Film Festival, tells PopEater.com that he believes agents, managers, and publicists continue to force actors and actresses to remain closeted, saying “I don’t think any gay person is going to be happy and bring joy to themselves and other people unless they can be honest about their sexuality, and if other people don’t like that honesty, that’s a comment on them and not on the person who is being honest.” He adds “That might seem a harsh thing to say to a young actor who is being advised by an agent to stay in the closet. There are no openly gay stars in Hollywood, so someone is telling them to shut up.”

The New York Times takes note of the sudden surge of new gay anthems, including We R Who We R, by Ke$ha, who says of the recent rash of publicised gay youth suicides are “heartbreaking” and who calls the song an anthem for those “who haven’t felt accepted because of their sexuality,” a song for “people being themselves unapologetically.” Jake Shears, the openly gay lead singer of Scissor Sisters, supporting Lady Gaga (whose next single from a new album, Born This Way, is already being breathlessly spoken of as an anthem replacing the iconic gay cheer “I Will Survive) says that “It’s exciting because it feels like this gay awareness and openness to homosexuality is coming to a head. If our band’s sexuality, and other artist’s sexuality, and really anybody’s sexuality, is going to be less of big deal, then great. But what if it is something that is just a trend? What happens to the gays if it goes out of style?”

Prince Harry, meanwhile, according the Daily Mail, committed a fashion faux pas by revealing his pink boxers (which appear to be only color of underwear he owns) at an event held yesterday with Bear Grylls.
