Conservatives Already Threaten To Force Vote In Minnesota To Ban Gay Marriage And Civil Unions, El Paso Voters Approve Initiative Cutting Health Benefits To Gay Partners Of City Employees, Jensen Ackles And Jared Padalecki, Vinny Guadagnino Guys With iPhones Appearance, Kellan Lutz And James Franco Go 127 Hours

In Minnesota, Tom Pritchard, the president of the anti-gay Minnesota Family Council told the Associated Press Thursday that conservative activists want a state-wide vote in 2012 on the definition of marriage, Pritchard saying that the Republican seizing of the state Legislature becomes a big boast towards banning same sex marriage and civil unions.

In El Paso, Texas Tuesday the Times reportst that voters passed an initiative that read “The city of El Paso endorses traditional family values by making health benefits available only to city employees and their legal spouse and dependent children,” meaning that the city’s attorney’s office intends to cut health benefits to gay and unmarried partners of city employees, as well as some retirees and some dependents of city employees. The initiative was passed 55-percent to 45-percent. The changes take effect next Wednesday; however, a court challenge is expected to be filed prior to that date.
