City Of Fort Worth Drops All Charges Against Men In Rainbow Lounge Raid, Immigration Hold Placed On Suspect In Joshua Wilkerson Murder, German Undertakers Introduce Gay Funeral Accessories, Tom Hardy Set Sexy, Andrew Garfield

Fort Worth, Texas has dropped charges against four men arrested last June during a controversial raid on the Rainbow Lounge, city officials confirmed Friday, that according to the Star-Telegram. Chad Gibson, who suffered a serious head injury during the incident, and George Armstrong was to go on trial in December, Gibson charged with assaulting an agent with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, as well as public intoxication. Armstrong was charged with public intoxication. Both men pleaded not guilty. Charges were also dropped against Jose A. Macias and Dylan T. Brown, both charged with public intoxication. The raid, which Fort Worth police and the TABC coordinated, became classified as a bar check, and angered the gay community both locally and nationally, who regarded the raid as excessive and a targeted attack on gay men. Police officials declined to comment on the city’s decision to drop all charges. A statement from Fort Worth said that “As it is our policy not to discuss municipal court prosecutions or litigation, the city will have no further comment.”

KIAH-TV reports that the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirm that they have placed an immigration hold on 19 year old Hermilo Moralez, charged and in custody in connection to the horrific murder of 18 year old Joshua Wilkerson. Brazoria County, Texas officials say Moralez was arrested in May for misdemeanour harassment, and at the time was listed as a citizen of Belize. Moralez was booked into jail Thursday evening just after 10:00 pm on charges of murder, failure to identify, and attempting to take a weapon from an officer. The ICE hold means that Moralez cannot be released from jail, regardless if he posts bail.

Reuters reports that two Germany undertakers are selling coffins adorned with images of male nudes, 32 year old Thomas Brandt saying that he and his business partner, 34 year old Michael Koenigsfeld “believe you should be able to have a coffin that lets you embark on your last journey in a way that reflects how you lived your life.” The two say they provide a service which offers “a warm and fantastical departure for same sex couples,” apparently illustrated by rainbow coloured coffins and urns.
