Chris Colfer tells TV Guide in advance of Tuesday night’s much-hype Glee episode titled Never Been Kissed, that “It’s so big that we had a full meeting about it that we can’t say anything. That’s never happened before. I will say it’s about Kurt.” The episode, which introduces both a new gay character, Blaine, played by Darren Criss, and a discussion of bullying, according to Colfer might deliver on the long promised same sex kiss, although Chris remains coy, saying that “maybe” Kurt Hummel finally gets kissed, “but maybe something else happens that’s even bigger. Don’t let the title lead you the wrong way. The title of the episode has nothing to do with Kurt.”
Glee’s Rocky Horror Picture Show-themed Halloween episode was condemned by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation for its use of the word tranny, rather that transvestite. The New York Daily News reports that Susan Sarandon, who starring in the original film, said she was confused about the controversy. “What should they have said?” she asked, adding that there are several individuals she knows who proudly call themselves trannies. She said that GLAAD was “getting like PETA – way out of control.”
