Canadian Evangelical Hysterical About Expanded Protection For Gender Expression And Gender Identity, Willow Palin Calls Critic Of Mother’s Reality Show “Faggot,” Croatian Soccer Executive Says “Gay People Are For Ballet,” Debunking Myth That Gays And Lesbians Hold Earning Power, Toothy Darren Criss, Chaz Bono

Charles McVety, an evangelical leader and Canadian Christian activist accused the federal Conservatives of helping expedite a NDP bill that would extend human rights protections to those persons that identify as transgender, the Globe and Mail reporting that McVety says that the legislation would let men walk into women’s public showers and washrooms on the pretext that they self-indentify as women. Bill C-398, sponsored by MP Bill Siksay, who is openly gay, would in fact prohibit discrimination based on gender expression and gender identity under the Canadian Human Rights Act, as well as amending the hate crimes and sentencing provisions of the Criminal Code. Mr. Siksay said “I think this is Mr. McVety being his alarmist best, once again, when it comes to an issue of human rights, equal rights, for minorities in Canada. There is nothing in this bill that will change our understanding of appropriate behaviour in public washrooms or in gendered spaces.”As for McVety’s insistence that “deal was made with the NDP” Siksay says the government has given the legislation no special treatment.

TMZ.com is reporting that 16 year old Willow Palin, the daughter of failed Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, wrote numerous anti-gay slurs, including the word “faggot” to attack a Facebook user who criticised her mother’s TLC reality show. During the premiere of Sarah Palin’s Alaska on Sunday night, a young man named Tre, who went to school with Willow, updated his Facebook status to say “Sarah Palin’s Alaska, is failing so hard right now.” Willow replied, writing on Tre’s wall “Haha your (sic) so gay. I have no idea who you are, But what I’ve seen pictures of, your (sic) disgusting ... My sister had a kid and is still hot.” She followed that with a comment that read “Tre stfu. Your (sic) such a faggot.”

More crazed Croatian anti-gay hate, Zdravko Mamic, the executive vice-president of one of the top soccer teams in the country, Dinamo Zagreb, commented on the head of the Croatian Football Federation Vlatko Markovic’s statement last week that he would never permit gay men to play for the national team, the Croatian Times reporting that Mamic said “I would not have gay people playing in my national team either. Gay people are for ballet. They can be journalists or writers. They would never put their head in front of a football boot.”
