NBC New York reports that the three teenaged suspects in an alleged bias attack on a 14 year old boy they perceived to be gay were arraigned late Thursday on Long Island, New York, 18 year old David Spencer and 16 year old Chase Morrison charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanour, and second-degree aggravated harassment, a felony. 16 year old Roy Wilson was charged with third-degree assault. The 14 year old victim was beaten onboard a school bus Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday, while yelling anti-gay slurs. Nassau Police Commissioner Lawrence Mulvey indicated that the verbal bullying had been taking place for some time, saying “There was an ongoing course of conduct against this particular student.” Mulvey added that there were two adults on the bus – the female driver and a female monitor, who is pregnant – but that both failed to follow protocol and report the incident. He added “It’s hard to believe we would have an incident like this after what happened in the Bronx and Rutgers.”
Vince Vaughn has issued an exclusive statement to Deadline.com that also serves as non-apology for now infamous “gay joke” featured in the trailer for Vaughn’s new film, The Dilemma, directed by Ron Howard. Says Vaughn “Let me add my voice of support to the people outraged by the bullying and persecution of people for their difference, whatever those differences may be. Comedy and joking about our differences breaks tension and brings us together. Drawing dividing line over what we can and cannot joke about does exactly that: it divides us. Most importantly, where does it stop.” So, it seems, it is all about Vaughn and his right to make non-funny films masquerading as comedies pretending to be an exercise in free speech. I think?
Brittany Snow, the Jed Foundation, and MTV started LoveIsLouder.com several months ago, an anti-bullying, depression, suicide prevention and support campaign that acts as aggregate of sort, a statement saying “This movement strives to amplify the momentum of other inspiring online campaigns and invited anyone who has felt mistreated, misunderstood or isolated into the conversation. We are here to raise the volume around a critical message – that love and support is more powerful than the external and internal voices that bring us down, causes us pain and make us feel hopeless.” Wednesday night, to promote LoveIsLouder.com Tyler Shields photographed Snow, himself, as well as Colton Haynes, Lucas Grabeel, Shawn Pyform and Thomas Dekker among others.
Anderson Cooper, via Twitter, comes out as a rabbit.
The perfect, pouty-lipped Chord Overstreet spends a good deal of time on Glee in the shower or shirtless, a good thing too. (Site NFSW)
