Glen Race Accused Of Murdering Two Gay Men In Nova Scotia Ordered To Undergo Mental Health Assessment, President Of The National Organization For Marriage Maggie Gallagher Denies She Haas Blood On Her Hands, Big Brother Contestant Turned Gay Porn Star Arrested For Public Altercation With Ex-Boyfriend, Steven Slater And Boyfriend Burglarized By Boyfriend’s Brother

Glen Race appeared briefly Wednesday in a Nova Scotia court in Bridgewater, west of Halifax, arraigned on two counts of first-degree murder, and according to the CBC, the judge agreed to a defence request for a mental health assessment, arguing that Race belongs in a mental hospital, not a prison. Race was arrested in May, 2007 while attempting to enter Mexico from Texas, charged in the horrific murders of two gay men, Trevor Brewster, found under a boardwalk, and Michael Knott, found in the woods, both in early May, 2007, Race 26 years old at the time, his family saying he had suffered from schizophrenia for the previous six years. He was extradited to Canada last Friday from New York, where he had been serving a life sentence for the murder of Darcy Manor, although that January, 2009 sentence is under appeal.

The odious Maggie Gallagher authors an opinions piece for the New York Post, the president of the National Organization for Marriage, the anti-gay group, deflecting condemnation that she and her organization’s homophobic rhetoric contributes to a climate where fear and hatred seem to sanction the harassment and menacing of gays, in particular the bullying of gay youth. Referencing a decade-long study in Massachusetts, Gallagher writes that, “Gay students are also twice more than twice as likely to report having had sexual intercourse before ago 13 – that is, to be sexually abused as children. They are three times as likely to report being the victims of dating violence, and nearly four times as likely to report forced sexual contact. A majority of teens in Massachusetts reported using illegal drugs in the last month. (Perhaps most oddly, gay teens are also three times as likely as non-gay teens to report either becoming pregnant or getting someone else pregnant,” Gallagher carefully contriving the study’s findings to deny any and all culpability.

Steven Daigle has been arrested, TMZ.com reporting that the 37 year old former Big Brother 10 contestant allegedly beat his former boyfriend Trent Locke outside the Abby Bar in West Hollywood after a viewing party for the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Daigle, who currently appears as an actor in gay porn, remains in a Los Angeles jail, and is charged with misdemeanour battery. He is being held on $20,000 bail awaiting an arraignment later Wednesday. According to reports, Locke instigated the fight, but he was not charged, instead, he was taken to an area hospital, where he tweeted that he was “deeply embarrassed” by the incident, and that he “would never take a swing” at Steven, “and I did not.”

Steven Slater, who appeared in a Queens court Tuesday, pleading guilty to two counts of attempted criminal mischief, and his boyfriend Ken Rochelle were burglarizing by Ken’s brother, Jonathan, the New York Daily News reporting that 39 Jonathan Rochelle has been arrested after his brother told police he had stolen Steven’s laptop, as well as a printer and microwave.
