Ex- Canadian Navy Member Pleads Guilty To Horrific 2008 Beating Death Of Gay Man, Victim Of Anti-Gay Attack At New York City’s Oldest Gay Bar Speaks Out, Dan Choi Re-Enlists, Hudson Taylor Has NOH8, Lyndon Ogbourne Ass For Charity

The Winnipeg Free Press reports that 59 year old Morris Richard McConnell pleaded guilty to second-degree murder Tuesday for the March, 2008 stabbing and beating death of 42 year old Kelvin Osborne. McConnell, a former member of the Canadian Navy, attacked Osborne moments after he propositioned McConnell for sex, a blood-soaked McConnell telling neighbouring tenants that “He was trying to turn me in some kind of faggot” moment after the killing. McConnell defence attorney had argued that the murder was not motivated by Osborne’s sexual orientation, but that McConnell was struggling with his own identity, having admitted to meeting Osborne earlier that evening and inviting him to return to the apartment. Crown prosecutor Scott Cooper told the court that McConnell’s sexual “orientation issues may have put him in a position where this event occurred. This was an act that was committed as a result of self-loathing.” Osborne face and head was bashed repeatedly with a hammer, his neck slashed with a knife. McConnell was sentenced to a mandatory minimum sentence of life in prison with no chance of parole for at least ten years. No hate crime stipulation was attached.

Greg Davis, the 38 year old bartender attacked October 11th inside Julius’ Bar in New York City, spoke publically for the first time Tuesday, DNAinfo.com telling how he attempted to defend an African-American patron from 45 year old Frederick Giunta who was menacing him with homophobic and racist slurs. Joined by openly gay City Council Speaker Christine Quinn in front of the LGBT Center in the Village, Davis said that Giunta, who moments earlier had punched a 31 year old Brooklyn resident after attempting to steal his wallet outside another gay bar, Ty’s, “could really hurt someone. I was absolutely determined to do what small part I could to get him off the street. I tried to move the other customers away from him, they were upset, and he punched me,” Davis adding that “It’s upsetting to think that when you got to work, you could be a victim.” Giunta is charged with assault as a hate crime, and is currently being held on a $25,000 bail due back in court October 21st.

NY1 on Dan Choi, the gay New York National Guard Iraq War veteran discharged under the American military policy prohibiting openly gay service members, who Tuesday afternoon took advantage of immediate injunction preventing the military from enforcing the policy known as “don’t ask, don’t tell,” and re-enlisted at the Armed Forces Recruiting Station in Times Square. Choi said “This means so many things. Not just being able to fulfill my commitment and continue serving, but when I take a look at it in a broader context, I have a newfound faith in our government. That at least one branch of the government is on the side of the Constitution, is on the side of the people and the movement of the people to restore the Constitution.”

Outsports.com reports on the very hot former NCAA champion wrestler Hudson Taylor, an ally for gay rights, who, alongside his fiancée Lia Alexandra Mandaglio, was photographed by Adam Bouska as a part of the NOH8 campaign.

The very cute Lyndon Ogbourne photographed his very nice naked ass as a part of a British campaign encouraging women to have regular mammograms, the 27 year old star of Emmerdale doing his, um, bit.
