Sunday the Big Sky Tea Party Association’s board of directors voted to remove the Montana-based organization’s president, Tim Ravndal, for an exchange on the wall of his Facebook page that appeared to condone violence against gays. Ravndal has also been removed from membership within the state organization. During an online conservation with another man regarding a lawsuit filed on behalf of the American Civil Liberties Union for seven same sex couples who want the right to marry, the two referencing the 1998 violent murder of University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard, brutally beaten, tied to a fence in an isolated area, and left to die. The commentator wrote “I think fruits are decorative. Hang up where they can be seen and appreciated. Call Wyoming for display instructions,” to which Ravndal responded “Where can I get that Wyoming printed instruction manual?” The comments, like Ravndal, have since been removed.

27 year old Police Constable Mark Carter appeared at Leeds Crowns Court Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault – the court told the five charges involve four different alleged victims. Carter, crowned Mr. Gay UK in 2006, was released on bail and will appear again December 13th for trial.

According to a new report, reckless sexless behaviour by young gay men serves as the stimulus for the HIV epidemic in Europe and the United Kingdom. The results of the survey conducted by researchers at Ghent University in Belgium who compared the genetic information of viruses isolated from more than 500 patients – male and female, heterosexual and homosexual, Caucasian and non – all of whom were newly diagnosed with HIV between the years 2001 and 2009. Those infected, the research shows, were all almost Caucasian, male, gay, and young, and all tended to have other sexual diseases like syphilis, a connection that suggests risky sexual attitudes. Nick Partridge, the United Kingdom’s foremost HIV/AIDS activist and authority, said that the results of the study underline the need for targeted prevention and information campaigns, saying “Gay men are still the most at risk of HIV infection in the UK. We also know that more than a quarter of people with HIV in the UK are currently undiagnosed, and they’re far more likely to pass the virus on that those who know they have it. Targeted HIV prevention programmes are key to reducing the numbers of new infections each year. But we’d also argue for innovative testing services to better diagnose men who’ve been at risk.”

Bob Katter, an independent Member of Parliament from Queensland, Australia, denies the existence of gays in his riding, saying that he would “walk backwards from Bourke if the poof population of North Queensland is any more than 0.001per cent.”

The government of Mexico City released figures that show since gay marriage was legalized in the capital city six months ago, a total of 398 marriages have been registered, 53-percent of those gay and 47 percent of those lesbian.
