Judge Dismisses Charges Against One Marine In Savannah Gay Bashing, Montana Republican Legislative Candidate Apologizes For Anti-Gay Facebook Comments, James Franco Remains Straight, 50 Cent Attempts To Remain Relevant By Making Ridiculously Dangerous Anti-Gay Tweet, GLAAD Takes 50 Cent To Task, Male Model Mania Backstage At New York Fashion Week

The two marines accused of beating a gay man in downtown Savannah, Georgia appeared in court Thursday, and the case against one of the two, 23 year old Chris Stanzel, has been bound over to Superior Court. A motion entered by attorneys for the second marine, 23 year old Keli Cronauer, to dismiss the case against him entirely was put on hold to allow Judge Clair Cornwell-Williams to examine video surveillance. Williams did dismiss the battery charge against Cronauer for a lack of evidence, but he still could face a charge of disorderly conduct for allegedly yelling a number of anti-gay insults at the victim, Kieran Daly.

More anti-gay mania from Montana, GOP candidate for state Legislature Jason Priest, of Red Lodge, issuing a public apology in the Carbon County News for private comments he shared with an acquaintance’s Facebook wall. While the two discussed iconic economist John Maynard Keynes, Priest called Keynes a “big homo” and suggested that President Obama was figuratively sodomizing America with the enactment of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Priest wrote in part “My passion for controlling spending overcame my better judgement and my crude metaphor understandably detracted from the point of my comment. It was a poor choice of words and I apologize to anyone I have offended.”

James Franco is still straight. “Everyone thinks I’m a stoner, and some people think I’m gay because I play these gay roles. That’s what people think, but it’s not true. I don’t smoke pot. I’m not gay,” says Franco, who tends to play gay (and high) with a convincing certainty.

50 Cent makes an inane anti-gay comment via Twitter regarding a gay blogger whose name I do not dare speak. GLAAD wants you to denounce 50 Cent’s call for anti-gay violence.

New York Spring/Summer 2011 Fashion Week can only mean one thing: plenty of pretty male models, backstage photographs confirming the obvious.
