Centers For Disease Controls Study Shows Nearly One Half Men In 21 Major American Cities Do not Know They Are HIV Positive, Bishop Eddie Long Continues To Deny Sexual Misconduct Allegations, Survivor: Nicaragua Homophobia, E! Cancels Adam Lambert Bashing Daily 10, Joe McElderry And Olly Murs

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday that nearly one in five gay and/or bisexual men in 21 major American cities do not realize that they are infected with HIV, Reuters reporting that young men, in particular young African-American men are the least likely to know they are infected. According to Dr. Jonathan Mermin, the director of CDC’s Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention, “For young men who have sex with men – including young men of color who are least likely to know they may be infected – the futures is truly on the line. It is critical that we reach these young men early in their live with HIV prevention and testing services and continue to make these vital services available as they become older.”

Bishop Eddie Long, the vehemently anti-gay head of the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Georgia, released a statement through his attorneys Thursday saying “I am anxious to respond directly to these false allegations and I will do so. However, my lawyers have counselled patience at this time. But let me be clear; the charges against me and New Birth are false. I have devoted my life to helping others and these false allegations hurt me deeply.” According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Long, who said that he been “through storms and my faith has always sustained me,” asked for patience and added that he intends to respond publically to the charges during services this Sunday. To date, three young men have filed lawsuits against Bishop Long alleging sexual misconduct, contending that he manipulated his pastoral influence to coerce the three into having sexual relations.

Homophobia runs amok among the members of Survivor: Nicaragua, RealityBlurred.com offering the dense, depressing details.

Last week, as previously posted, Mike Catherwood, guest-hosting E!’s Daily 10 make a crude anti-gay comment regarding possible legal action taken against Adam Lambert for attacking a photographer in Miami, Catherwood saying “From what I know about jail, Mr. Lambert probably wouldn’t have too bad a time.” E! and Catherwood offered apologies – Catherwood’s awkward – but now GLAAD has news that E! has cancelled the show outright - October 1st the last time it will air.
