A British national and an Indian were wed Tuesday, albeit symbolically, in Nepal, the two a part of a larger plan to promote the country as a gay friendly destination and to capitalize on the ever desirable pink dollar. 42 year old Sanjay Shah from Leicester and Indian man who asked that his identity not be revealed, were married by a Hindu priest, the Blue Diamond Society – a gay rights advocacy group headed by Sunil Pant, a member of Nepal’s parliament and the nation’s most visible gay activist, having organized the ceremony.
