Catholic Church Organizes Anti-Gay Marriage March In Buenos Aries, Opening Day Recap Of Trial Seeking To Overturn American Gay Military Ban, Las Vegas Church Continues To Fund Anti-Gay Ugandan Martin Ssempa, David Henrie Gets Ab-tastic, Taylor Lautner Gets Biker Butch, Get Hugh Jackman To Work You Out, Evan Longoria

The Catholic Church and a number of evangelical churches in Argentina organized a rally Tuesday in the capital city of Buenos Aires ahead of debate in the Latin America’s Senate on gay marriage, thousands demonstrating under the banner “Children Have a Right to a Father and a Mother.” One of the organizers said “we are not against any community, but we want to be clear: marriage is between a man and woman and the rights of children to have a father and a mother cannot be violated.”

A recap of day one at the federal trial in Riverside, California, the Log Cabin Republican’s – the GOP gay group, if you will – challenging the constitutional validity of the American military policy preventing openly gay men and women from serving. According to Dan Woods, an attorney for the plaintiffs, the policy violates the rights of gay military service members to free speech, due process, and open association, saying “if they wish to serve in armed forces, homosexuals must conceal the core of their identity, they must lie – in violation of their honour and duty. Our military excludes these men and women from service solely on the basis of status and conduct that is constitutionally protected.” He added that twenty-nine nations, including Canada, Germany, Israel, and Sweden permit openly gay persons to serve in the military, and that gays are also able to serve in CIA, FBI, and as the commander in chief of the United States armed forces.

Martin Ssempa, the pastor of an evangelical church in Kampala, Uganda and a violently anti-gay architect of that country’s anti-homosexual hysteria, continues to be funded by the congregation of Canyon Ridge Christian Church in Las Vegas, Nevada, Kevin Odor, the pastor, saying Ssempa has been “misrepresented.” When asked whether he and the congregation were aware of the Anti-Homosexuality Bill of 2009 still before the Ugandan parliament, which proposes to kill gays for certain acts of aggravated homosexuality, Odor says he does not “personally” endorse such a policy, however “we want to help the AIDS problem in Africa, and we found somebody who is making a difference.”
