Jose Alessio, an Argentine Roman Catholic priest, publically supports gay marriage and adoption rights for gay couples, and he is determined to defy an archbishop’s demand to cease celebrating Mass. Father Alessio said that “I fell I’m in communion with God, my people and the Gospel, regardless of whether a bishop of the Pope decides to excommunicate me.” Currently, the Argentine parliament is debated a proposal that would grant gays the right to marry and to adopt, a proposal publically supported by President Cristina Fernandez.

Former Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel is running in the Republican gubernatorial race – a race that is embarrassingly juvenile. While running for Fulton County Commission chairman – a position she won – Handel wrote a cheque to the Log Cabin Republicans, the GOP gay group. Her opponents raised the cheque as an issue, and Handel has responded that it was written as a “sponsorship” while refusing to elaborate her stance on gay issues. Today, that all changed, Handel breaking her silence in the most vile manner. In an interview, Handel says she is against gay marriage as well as civil unions, and that she is also against the rights of gay couples to adopt. When repeatedly pressed to explain her position, Handel says “as a Christian, marriage is between a man and a women. I do not think that gay relationships are – they are not what God intended.” When asked whether she thinks gay couples are less qualified to act as parents than their straight counterparts she says “I think that for a child to be in household – in a family in a household with a situation where the parents are not married, as in one man and one woman, is the not the best household for a child.”

Stephen Fry and his longtime partner Daniel Cohen have ended their 14 year relationship. The 52 year old Fry left the 40 year old Cohen and is allegedly seeing 26 year old Steven Webb, an actor.
