Accused Gay Basher Alexandre Tchernychev Pleads Gay Panic As A Defence, Toronto Dyke Parade, London Pride Attracts One Million, Hollyoaks Transgender Teen Storyline, Cristiano Ronaldo Announces He Has Fathered A Boy

As previously posted, Vancouver, British Columbia police arrested two men Thursday in connection to an anti-gay attack on a 30 year old man earlier that morning, and now one of the two charged, 21 year old Alex Tchernychev is claiming gay panic in his defence. According to Alexandre, he and his friend Aaron Hahn, also 21 years old, also charged, got off a bus at 2:40 am and were walking shirtless when the victim and his friends approached the duo “and they were hitting on us. So I said please stop doing that, I don’t like that. So they starting provoking it.” He added that anti-gay insults used were done so after the fight. Tchernychev and Hahn fled on foot and were arrested minutes later. Tchernychev says “I have gay friends and I’m fine with them as long as they don’t hit on me. I like women, you know?”

In Toronto, a week after the spirit crushing G20 catastrophe the annual Dyke March set a slightly different and welcome tone, a celebration that precedes Sunday’s 30th Annual Pride Parade. Among those attending, mayoral candidate George Smitherman, the province of Ontario’s first openly gay cabinet minister, who said “there’s nothing like the swell of diversity to expunge the memory of a lost weekend.”

An estimated one million individuals celebrated London Pride Saturday – including the smoking sexy pretty in pink men seen below – including the mayor of London, Boris Johnson, a supporter of gay marriage, and Coalition minister equality minister Lynne Featherstone who late this week revealed the government is considering affording same sex couples the right to include hymn singing and religious readings in civil partnership ceremonies, which, if passed, would make civil partnerships identical to marriage except in name.



Hollyoaks, the British drama is about to add a teenaged transgendered storyline, in August the show will follow the character of Jasmine, a 15 year old who will transition towards Jason.

Cristiano Ronaldo has announced that he has become a father, Ronaldo via Twitter writing that “as agreed with the baby’s mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship.” He then asks “everyone to fully respect my right to privacy” oblivious to the irony of the request made by a tweet.
