Turkey Pride Protests Oppression Of Gays By Muslim Majority, Sharon And Kelly Osbourne Lead Los Angeles Pride And Shout Down Anti-Gay Protesters, Steven Monjeza Purported Girlfriend Prostitute, Illinois Senator Candidate Extends Benefits To Gay Employees, Glee Generation, Ryan Phillippe Shirtless, Lukas Podolski Hotness

An estimated 300 hundred gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transsexuals participated in a Gay Pride rally in Istanbul to denounce the murders of gays and the discrimination faced by the LGBT community in the Muslim majority in Turkey. While homosexuality is legal in Turkey, persecutions of LGBT individuals remain persistent. During Sunday’s protest, the names of numerous homosexuals killed in recent months were read at the rally, in fact in the past sixteen months eight transsexuals have been murdered. In March, the Turkish Minister for the Family and Women Aliye Selma Kavaf called homosexuality a “biological disorder.”

Meanwhile in Los Angeles, California, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, Grand Marshalls of the 2010 Gay Pride parade, confronted an anti-gay group who approached the two while they atop a float. Sharon reportedly took the microphone and over the loud speaker yelled “You should be ashamed of yourselves.” Kelly then reportedly took the microphone and yelled “My God loves gays,” and subsequently led the crowd gathered in West Hollywood in a chant of “God loves gays” so loud it drowned out of the anti-gay group.

An update of the story of Steven Monjeza and Tiwonge Chimbalanga, last week Steven Monjeza, who reportedly has a drinking problem, announced that he was seeing a woman, Dorothy Gulo, and that he was no longer in love with Tiwonge Chimbalanga, an announcement that stunned several since the two were arrested in December after holding an engagement party, charged with unnatural acts and gross indecency, held in custody without bail, found guilty, sentenced to 14 years in prison with hard labour. Only after international condemnation and diplomatic intervention of United Nations Secretary General did the two gay men receive a full pardon. Now it seems that the women in question, a known prostitute, was hired to act as Steven’s girlfriend, lending credence to complaints by gay activists that the couple continues to be coerced and threatened by Malawian authorities as well as citizens.

Illinois Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias signed an executive order Sunday that extends family-leave benefits to gay and lesbian employees in domestic partnerships, the new policy allowing gay and lesbians employees of the Treasurer’s office to take up to twelve weeks of unpaid leave to care for a sick partner or relative, similar to that afforded opposite sex married co-workers. The change also allows gay and lesbian time for the birth or adoption of a child. Giannoulias, who the Democratic candidate for the United States Senator seat left vacant by Barack Obama against Republican Mark Kirk, said the timing of the announcement had nothing to do with the November election, saying “these aren’t added bonuses or employee perks. These are the same basic rights other employees have long come to expect.”

Is the Glee generation real or just wishful thinking?

A couple of weeks ago Ryan Phillippe was on the beach in the Caribbean shirtless and wearing shorts, which is the way Ryan Phillippe should always be.
