Shootings At San Francisco Pink Saturday Celebration Leaves Teen Dead
Terrible news from San Francisco, reports Sunday that one of the three victims of a shooting Saturday in the city’s Castro District has died. 19 year old Stephen Powell was shot in the torso late last night at Market and Castro streets during San Francisco’s Pink Saturday celebrations. A 19 year old woman and a 29 year old man were each shot in the leg and were taken to hospital. They are expected to survive. Powell was pronounced dead on arrival. According to police, a 19 year old man has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting, police adding that the handgun used in the crime has been recovered. No further details have been released. Pink Saturday is the street party held annually in the city on the evening prior to the Gay Pride Parade; an event that is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
