A human rights complaint filed by a former employee at the Nova Scotia youth jail in Waterville has been settled, the man, whose name is banned from publication, contending that co-workers and a supervisor harassed him for six years perceiving him to be gay. As a part of the settlement, the facility agreed to work with the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission to ensure that practices and services at the jail, in particular those regarding gay youth, are “optimal.”

Sarah Palin, failed Republican vice-presidential candidate and Alaska governor, said Sunday “Gulf disaster needs divine intervention as man’s efforts have been futile. Gulf lawmakers designate today Day of Prayer for solution/miracle.”

Palin, more problematically, has endorsed Star Parker for California’s 37th congressional district, Parker, whose past as criminal accomplice and welfare fraudster are well documented, but that she authored an article arguing that legalizing gay marriage in Washington, D.C. will increase the new infections of HIV, writing that “it should concern every American as we watch our nation’s capital city transform officially into Sodom.”
