Queers Against Israeli Apartheid Vow To Defy Ban And Intend To Participate In Toronto Pride, Admiral Mike Mullen Supports Repeal Of Military Ban On Gays, John McCain Opposes Repeal And Urges Delay, Ryan Kwanten On Nudity And Gay Vampires, Joe Jonas And His Cute Assistant, Jake Gyllenhaal

Queers Against Israeli Apartheid Wednesday said it intends to march in this year’s Pride Toronto parade despite a ban being placed on its name. Elle Flanders, a spokesperson, said “QuAIA’s voice won’t be silenced. However that takes its form in the parade this year, QuAIA’s voice won’t be silenced.” Her proclamation comes the day after a contentious news conference by Pride Toronto that explained its decision to ban the group because its name violates the City of Toronto’s non-discrimination policies; a news conference at which members of QuAIA shouted out the official speakers, all while, ironically, contending their right to free speech was being denied. Pride organizers have already said that the threatened participation of QuAIA has compromised funding and involvement.

Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, America’s top uniformed military official, said Wednesday that he believes it is now time to repeal the military ban on gay men and women serving openly. “Personal opinion? I believe it’s time. I believe we need to change it,” said Mullen, while addressing an audience at the Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado. Thursday, the Senate Armed Services Committee intends to vote on overturning the 17 year old ban.

Admiral Mullen’s announcement arrives as Arizona Senator John McCain, who is opposed to the repeal, solicited and obtained a letter signed by all four leaders of the Army, Air Force, Marines, and Navy objecting to a compromise reached by the White House and leading Democrats Monday that would vote to repeal the policy, and that asks for a delay on voting until after a December 1st deadline, at which time a Pentagon commissioned review of the implementation of a repeal of the military ban on gays serving openly would be completed.

Ryan Kwanten says that although he would never strip for Playgirl like Levi Johnston, he thinks that he would sexy if True Blood co-stars “Stephen (Moyer) and Alex (Skarsgard) can do a little tandem.”

Joe Jonas spotted in West Hollywood Wednesday post and pre-workout, Joe newly single and if you believe idle gossip, the boy in black accompanying the Jonas brother, his gay assistant, was the source of the breakup with Demi Lovato, but then who believes idle gossip?
