In Toronto, a debate held Wednesday before a group of realtors between the mayoral candidates turned testy, frontrunner George Smitherman, openly gay, taking the opportunity to ask opponent Rob Ford to address and apologize for comments he made in 2006 at City Hall as a councillor for Etobicoke, when Ford, furious that the city was allocating $1.5 million out of its operating budget to help in the fight against AIDS, said “It us very preventable.
