Gary Coleman, Tony Award Nominee Portraits, Marc Jacobs, Marvellous Mitch Baker, Zac Efron Courtside With Ian Somerhalder, David Beckham Joins Adam Levin, Marouane Chamakh, Cristiano Ronaldo

Gary Coleman has died. He was 42. The actor, who achieved a kind of immortal pop cultural fame as Arnold Jackson on the unlikely late seventies sitcom Different Strokes, and who later served as a kind of reminder of how cruel pop culture can often be to those it celebrates, Coleman struggling in public, suing his parents, filing for bankruptcy, arrests for incidents that including punching a female fan who demanded an autograph to domestic violence charges this year in Utah. In 2003, he ran for the governor of California – a gubernatorial recalled was in effect – among 135 other candidates that included Larry Flynt, the publisher of Hustler. Coleman, who said that he ran because “I want to escape that legacy of Arnold Jackson. I’m someone more. It would be nice if the world thoughts of me as something more,” placed 8th in that election. Coleman had fallen earlier this week at this home in Utah, suffering an internal haemorrhage. He fell into a coma, and early Friday, his family took him off life support.
