Teen Arrested In Nova Scotia In Connection With Gay Bashing, Fred Phelps’s Estranged Son Speaks Out, Chris Armstrong Sworn In As Michigan Student President, Male Otter Live Long Companions Die, Clay Aiken Track Listing, Pictures Of Benjamin Brady,

A 17 year old Sydney, Nova Scotia has been arrested, charged with assault after a man was punched a gay 28 year old in the face, the man, a Riverview Rural High School teacher leaving a Pride Cape Breton dance on February 28th. Police have yet to determine whether the youth will face an additional hate crime charge, although it is clear that the 17 year old, along with two other males targeting someone from the gay community. The 17 year old will appear in court on June 2nd.

Nate Phelps, father of four, resident of Cranbrook, British Columbia, is the estranged son of Westboro Baptist Church founder Fred Phelps, and this Sunday an interview with Nate will appear on the Canadian cable network Joy, an interview in which he discusses his father and suggests that the WBC shares similarities with cults. He also says the elder Phelps beat both his wife and his children on a regular basis, and blamed the world’s woes on homosexuality. Nate Phelps left the WBC and his father in 1980, and also says in the interview that his father was once a well-respected attorney who led several anti-segregation lawsuits, and was honoured by the NCCAP as a civil rights hero.

Elected in landslide last Friday, openly gay LBGT Commission Chair Chris Armstrong was sworn in this week as the new Michigan University Student Assembly president. Armstrong who says he only came out to family and friends at the end of his senior year in high school, is a junior, and said he was truly surprised to win, but says that he hopes being gay and holding a position as assembly president will show that any University student can represent the “spirit of Michigan.”

The story of Daz and Chip, two male otters who lived at the Naturelands Zoo in Nelson, New Zealand, and, who, after weeks of being sick, died within hours of each other, both suffering heart attacks, the two having been constant companions for the past fifteen years.
