President Obama Orders Hospital Visitation Rights Be Afforded Same Sex Couples, Argentina Judge Annuls Country’s First Gay Marriage, Houston Astros Plan Pride At The Park Event, Daniel Radcliffe Returning To Broadway, Kellan Lutz Two Tee Man, aussieBum Spunk, Behind The Scenes Of D&G Underwear Shoot

The Washington Post is reporting that American President Barack Obama signed a memorandum Thursday that requires hospitals to allow gays and lesbians to have non-family visitors and to grant their partners medical power of attorney, ordering the Department of Health and Human Services to prohibit discrimination in hospital visitation. An official said that the new policy will affect any and all hospitals that receive Medicare or Medicaid funding. Obama wrote that “every day, all across America, patients are denied the kindness and caring of a loved one at their sides whether in a sudden medical emergency or a prolonged hospital stay,” adding that affected “are gay and lesbian American who are often barred from the bedside of the partners with whom they may have spent decades of their lives – unable to be there for the person they love, and unable to act as a legal surrogate if their partner is incapacitated.”

In Argentina, the country’s first same sex marriage was formally annulled Thursday. Judge Marcos Mellien ruled that the marriage of Alex Freyre and Jose Maria De Bello was “non-existent.” The two wed in the southern city of Ushuais last December, and both men say they will appeal today’s decision. Some areas of Argentina allow same sex civil unions, but gay marriage remains illegal.

The Houston Astros are hosting Pride in the Park, a gay themed event July 10th, at a game against the St. Louis Cardinals. The team is donating a portion of the ticket sales to the game to Houston area non-profit groups. Newly elected Mayor Annise Parker, openly gay, will throw out the first pitch, and the members of the Bayou City Choral gay men and women’s chorus will sing the National Anthem.

Daniel Radcliffe is returning to Broadway, the actor announced as the star of revival of How to Succeed n Business Without Really Trying that is scheduled to open in the spring of 2011.

Kellan Lutz spotted twice Thursday out and about in Los Angeles, California, first with his mother.



Later, Lutz, having changed tee shirts, appeared solo before joining his aforementioned mother, and his is/is not girlfriend AnnaLynne McCord.
