Chris Grayling, British Conservative shadow home secretary, on Friday finally apologized for comments he made saying that Christian individuals who operate bed and breakfasts from their homes should “have the right” to reject gay couples. Grayling said on BBC Radio 5 Live that he is fact supported gay rights and was sorry for giving “the wrong impression.” Grayling, the subject of speculation that he is about to fired from his position, said “I am sorry if what I said gave the wrong impression. I certainly didn’t intend to offend anyone ...I voted for gay rights, I voted for this particular measure (the Equality Act (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2007).”

Colin Farrell says that his older brother Eamon suffered years of emotional and physical harassment simply because he is gay. “The beatings and taunting were very frequent for him,” said Colin, “and a constant part of his school years." Farrell added that "People are often afraid of difference. They feel that anything that causes fear, should be turned away from. My represented fear for so many people, but caused joy in my life. From a very young age he made me laugh with intelligence and wit, made me aspire to his strength and goodness. He was to be embraced." Farrell’s statements arrive at the beginning of an awareness week in Ireland – the Stand Up! campaign for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender youth in an effort to battle homophobia.

Thursday, the three Hayward, California men – cousins – were to appear in court on charges they shot a man in San Francisco they believed to be gay with a BB rifle, but the pleas have been delayed and prosecutors in the case indicted that a deal to settle the case without it coming to trail are underway. On February 26th the three men, all in the early twenties, came to the city, according to their confession, to shoot gay people, and videotape the event. They have been charges with assault with a deadly weapon, negligent discharge of a firearm, hate crimes, and attempted mayhem. Judge Bruce Chan order entry of plea delayed until April 19th “to see if there can be some resolution that would meet all in the interests of the communities and parties involved.”

Portugal, Thursday, moved one step closer to legalizing gay marriage.

I Love Phillip Morris, the film starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor, that tells the tale of a con man who, imprisoned, falls in love with his cellmate, and that premiered in January, 2009 at the Sundance Film Festival, was to be released domestically at the end of April, but now that release has been delayed indefinitely, no reason given as to why.
