The Roman Catholic Church of England and Wales Wednesday took the extraordinary and rare step of releasing a rebuttal to comments made Monday in Chile by the Vatican secretary of state, Father Marcus Stock, the general secretary of the Catholic Bishops Conference saying that “to the best of my knowledge, there is no empirical data which concludes that sexual orientation is connected to child sexual abuse.” Father Stock’s comments made in reposes to the ridiculous remark made by Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone who said research explicitly connected homosexuality and pedophilia. Father Stock also said that “the consensus among researchers is that the sexual abuse of children is not a question of sexual ‘orientation,’ whether heterosexual or homosexual, but of a disordered attraction or ‘fixation.’ Many abusers of children have never developed the capacity for mature adult relationships. Instead, their sexual attractions focus on children – boys or girls, or both.”

California State Senator Roy Ashburn entered a no-contest plea Wednesday in a Sacramento courtroom to drunken driving charges, and was sentenced to two days in jail, and three years probation. Ashburn, who was not present, earned credit for one day in custody and will serve the remaining day on the sheriff’s work project, and was also fined $480 and additional costs totally $2,000. Ashburn was arrested on March 4th, in downtown Sacramento, after leaving Faces, a popular midtown gay bar, in a state-owned car, with a male companion. Despite years of denial, the senator soon thereafter came out, and defended a record opposing gay rights during his 14 year career in the state Legislature. The DUI was his first offense.

A pair of male swans residing at the Abbotsbury Swannery in England are reported a happy couple, the only homosexual swans among more than 1,000 birds at the reserve. The conservation site, located in Dorset, is over six hundred years old. John Houston, the manager of Abbotsbury Swannery, the “swans have been nesting together like this for several year and they get together every nesting season and form a nest together. They sit on the nest and act in every way as if they were a pair expecting to lay eggs. It is quite sweet.”

Credo Action, a phone company, whose business manifest dictates donating to left-leaning political organizations like the ACLU and Greenpeace, has initiated a petition that calls on Discovery Communications to cancel an upcoming reality show starring the former governor of Alaska and failed Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Credo rightly points to an obvious contradiction that exists between the television network known for offering earth-friendly program and Palin, an advocate for habitat destroying oil and gas drilling, a climate change denier, and a proponent as governor of a horrid and inhumane wolf slaughter policy. Palin will be paid 1.2 million dollars per episode to host Sarah Palin’s Alaska, which will air on TLC, owned by Discovery.
