New Virginia Attorney General Hates Gays, No One Remembers 2008 Ruling Requiring Military To Demonstrate How Firing Gays Promotes Unity, Anti-Gay Group Wants Killer Whale Killed, Ashton Kutcher iPhone Fun, Alexander Skarsgard Has Something To Show You, Ryan Kwanten Ben McKenzie Emile Hirsch Have Spirit, Chris Pine And Zachary Quinto Out

The a little too loud anti-gay Ken Cuccienelli II, Virginia’s Attorney General sent a letter to the state’s public colleges and universities urging them to rescind policies that ban discrimination based on sexual orientation. Cuccienelli, who took office in January, authored a letter sent Thursday that only the Virginia General Assembly can extend legal protections to gay state employees, students, and others, but that procedure is one that the legislature has repeatedly avoided. “It is my advice that the law and public policy of the Commonwealth of Virginia prohibit a college or university from including ‘sexual orientation,’ “gender identity,’ ‘gender expression,’ or like classification as a protected class within its non-discrimination policy absent specific authorization from the General Assembly.” Cuccienelli’s letter arrives at time when neighbouring Maryland repositions itself as being inclusive and progressive on gay issues.

A report on an overlooked 2008 ruling by the 9th United States Circuit of Appeals that struck down the manner by which the military employs the policy banning gays from serving openly in much of Western America, and which the Bush administration declined to appeal, and what the two year old decison means to the repeal of "don't ask, don't tell." The ruling holds the military to a much higher legal threshold when attempting to determine whether a service person should be dismissed for being gay. The ruling in effect means that two separate and unequal standards exist; military personal in the Western United States required demonstrating that the dismissal of a gay or lesbian service member “promotes unit cohesion or discipline.”

The vehemently anti-gay American Family Association is insisting that the killer whale which drowned its trainer last week in Orlando, Florida be stoned to death. The AFA cites text from Exodus that states if a man’s ox kills anyone, it should be stoned to death.

Ashton Kutcher is one of the Guys with iPhones, but he is clothed, wearing an odd hat and sunglasses. Maybe he is just testing the waters?

Alexander Skarsgard is interviewed and photographed for the Los Angeles Times Sunday magazine, Skarsgard seriously smoking sexy – the epitome of a movie star.

Not to be outdone, Alexander’s True Blood co-star Ryan Kwanten spotted Friday at the 25th annual Spirit Awards celebrating independent film – Precious winning a total of five awards, including best picture, best actress, best supporting actress, and best director.
