Malawi Church Leaders Meet To Discuss And Understand Homosexuality, UK Catholic Adoption Agency Wins Appeal And Can Now Resume Discriminating Against Gays, Vatican Overwhelmed By German Child Abuse Scandal, Hearing Set In Constance McMillen Prom Battle, Constance Outs Her Mother, Lilith Fair Tour Dates, Former A List Boy Band Outing

According to reports leaders from the Malawi Council of Churches gathered Wednesday in the southern tow n of Mangochi to discuss and to “understand the phenomenon” of gay partners all in anticipation of verdict to be delivered Monday in the trial of Steven Monjeza and Tiwonge Chimbalanga who were arrested in late December, held without bail, and convicted on charges of gross public indecency and unnatural acts between men. Bishop Joseph Bvumbwe, the head of the Council, said the leaders assembled to discuss homosexuality as an issue “most Malawians do not understand.”

In the United Kingdom, a Catholic adoption agency – Catholic Care – has won on appeal the right in high court to be exempted from that country’s sexual orientation regulations, thereby allowing the agency to discriminate and not consider homosexual couples as prospective parents. Catholic Care – which serves dioceses of Leeds, Middlesbrough, and Hallam in Southern Yorkshire, had warned that it would stop finding homes for children instead of complying with the legislation, which prohibits any adoption agency from refusing under any and all grounds adoption to same sex couples.

The Vatican, meanwhile, continues to drown in a sea of child sexual abuse cases from Germany, a spokespersons conceding that the number of new reported cases threaten to overwhelm the internal prosecutor responsible for processing the incidents.

A hearing is scheduled for Monday that will entertain a motion filed by the American Civil Liberties Union suing the Itawamba County School District and some officials from the Itawamba Agricultural High School in Fulton, Mississippi, on behalf of 18 year old Constance McMillen, who wanted to wear a tuxedo to prom and escort her girlfriend. Late last week, the school, instead of revisiting and revising an antiquated policy, cancelled prom altogether, citing “distractions to the educational process caused by recent events.” According to court documents, Constance McMillen said that the assistant principal, Rick Mitchell, informed her that she and girlfriend could not attend together, but that they could go with “guys.” Superintendent Teresa McNeece told the two that they should attend prom separately, had to wear dresses, and could not slow dance with each other because that could “push people’s buttons.”

Constance, speaking with Michelangelo Signorile Tuesday on his ubiquitous radio show, said that her mother is gay, and that a gay male couple – friends of her mother – encouraged her to talk to the American Civil Liberties Union.

Lilith Fair has announced the dates and the times of ticket sales for the first few dates on the revamped tour – a summer staple of the 90’s – with a opening in Portland, Oregon on July 2nd.

Guess which “former A list boy bander is struggling to stay in the closet, but he might be emerging thanks to this affair with the male A list fashion designer who is supposedly very attached to his current boyfriend?”
