A Dorchester, Massachusetts man, Steven Odegard, found guilty in the stabbing death of Boston hair stylist Daniel Yakovleff, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The two men met in the early hours of January 17, 2008, at the Boston Eagle, a popular gay bar, and returned to Odegard’s apartment. No one knows why, but Yakovleff was stabbed with a foot long kitchen knife fifteen times, once so violently that it left a mark on his back. Odegard himself called 911, and when the police arrived the knife was plunged into his body. Daniel Yakovleff was 20 years old.

An update on last week’s Citibank public relations failure, when a mid-level compliance officer at the bank arbitrarily froze the account of Fabulis, the soon to go live hybrid of Facebook and Yelp for gay men, because of “objectionable content,” according to an email just sent out by Jason Goldberg, marking the Fabulis blog as “porn.” Citibank claims it will now update its policies for internet businesses because of the Fabulis incident, one that founder Goldberg rightly references as “one which highlights the prevailing subtle forms of homophobia and/or lack of understanding ... from some big corporations.

Daniel Radcliffe, whose public service announcement for The Trevor Project will soon air, finds it curious that a certain odious, unctuous blogger insists Radcliffe is gay because, according to said unnamed blogger, he has “gay face,” Radcliffe saying that if he were in fact gay, he would most certainly have come out by now.
