A report on a ruling in France February, the country becoming the first in the world to remove transsexual from the list of mental disorders, a very small step towards any sign of equality, in fact many gay advocates see the gesture as having an ulterior motive, allowing French politicians to appear progressive while managing to avoid to debate legalizing gay marriage or to modernize adoption laws and allow gays to adopt. Most troubling: France still requires transsexuals to undergo reassignment surgery and forced sterilization before they are able to obtain identity cards and official documents indicating their new gender.

The autopsy performed on 32 year old Krisitian Digby is inclusive, but police can confirm that no third party involvement occurred. Meanwhile, tributes to the openly gay Digby continue, remembered as gentleman, who did much to represent the gay community to the outside in the most positive of light.

In Uganda, with the climate of anti-gay hate intensified to a hysterical state, aided and abetted by the proposed Anti-Homosexuality Bill of 2009, a much needed public conversation on homosexuality appears unavailable, the rural media in the county unaware and uncomfortable handing homosexuals issues.

A report of hate crime perpetrated against two University of California at Riverside students after being attacked by three men who used a number of anti-gay slurs during the attack. The two were hospitalized, treated for injuries, and released.

The gay bashing comes as students and staff from the University of California at Davis demanded action and answers, over 400 attending a town hall meeting Monday to address the anti-gay vandalism, the university’s LBGT resource center spray painted with homophobic slurs. This is second reported hate crime in a week at Davis; a Jewish undergraduate found a swastika carved into the door of her dorm room.
