167 faith leaders in Iowa Tuesday took to the steps of the Statehouse to show their support for gay marriage and to admonish those who oppose same sex unions. The broad coalition said that unions based and formed on love “must be honoured.”
The United States Supreme Court will hear arguments April 28th regarding the release of the names of individuals who signed Referendum 71, the failed attempt to repeal Washington State’s newly approved gay rights law that expanded and strengthened the state’s domestic partnership rules. A law exists in the state require the public disclosure of those who sign referendums, but Protect Marriage Washington – the anti-gay marriage group who initiated R-71 – argued before a lower court that releasing the names would impact free speech as well as create a climate of harassment and intimidation.

Lady Gaga was the big winner at the Brits, Gaga took three Brits Tuesday evening – best international female solo artist, best international breakthrough act, and best international album for The Fame. Lily Allen was named best British solo act, while Dizzee Rascal was named best British male solo act. Florence and the Machine earned best British album for Lungs, while Kasabian earned best British band. Boy group JLS won breakthrough act. Jay-Z won best international male solo artist, and Robbie Williams was awarded the outstanding contribution to music, Williams having won 16 Brits, the most by any artist.
Lady Gaga performed a version of Telephone, which she dedicated to Alexander McQueen, then proceeded to rock a version of Dance in the Dark.
