Alberta Finance Minister Calls Gay Marriage A Social Experiment, Scott Brown Wins Massachusetts Senate Seat And Embarrasses Everyone, Uganda’s David Bahati Uninvited To Prayer Meeting, Counter-Prayer Breakfast, Cuba Performing Gender Reassignment Surgeries, Undergear Hotness, Ex-Porn Star Sues Professor For Harassment, John Mayer Shirtless, Ryan Phillippe

Ted Morton, homophobe and political embarrassment, appointed Alberta finance minister last week in an effort to placate Morton’s moronic fringe lunatic right-wing leanings and his – and his supporters – growing discontent with Premier Ed Stelmach, took to his Twitter Tuesday to tweet that “Same-sex marriage is not a human right. It’s a social experiment.”

Casebook study of political illiteracy, Republican Scott Brown, an anonymous state senator, upset Democrat Martha Coakley to take the Massachusetts Senate Seat vacated by the death of Edward M. Kennedy, what constitutes an upset of epic proportions. Coakley, the state attorney general, seemed unaware she was running in the special election, and has lost a seat Democrats have historically held. The election of Brown, who appeared nude as a Cosmopolitan centerfold, now changes the 60-40 majority the Democratic caucus has held, crucial to the passage of the Obama administration reformed health care bill. There are a number of reports that this loss will act as reminder to Democrats that their passive behaviour needs to change. Brown has a record of being a remarkable homophobe, a borderline racist, and a noted sexist, but again, he did pose nude.

There are reports that Uganda Member of Parliament and author of the Anti-Homosexuality Bill of 2009 David Bahati has been uninvited to attend National Prayer Breakfast, sponsored by The Family, the viciously anti-gay fringe quasi-Christian group, and scheduled for February 4th, in Washington, D.C.

The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force is sponsoring a counter protest breakfast the same morning, in Dallas, Texas. The American Prayer Hour at Creating Change: Protest ‘The Family’ and the Ugandan LGBT Death Penalty Bill, the event will focus on continuing to pressure the Obama administration and Congress to demand Uganda withdraw the horrific measure.

Mariela Castro, the daughter of Cuban President Raul Castro, said that Cuba has commenced performing state sponsored sex change operation after the country lifted a long standing ban on the procedure in 2007. Mariela Castro, an advocate for gay rights, runs the Center for Sex Education, which works to prepare transsexuals for surgery and identifies Cubans accepted for the procedure. She would not specify when the surgeries began or how many had been preformed.

The story of former gay porn star Jay Armstrong, currently working on a law degree at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, who is filing a harassment suit against Political Scientist professor Bryan-Paul Frost, whom allegedly threatened to expose Armstrong’s career, and with a subsequent expulsion Armstrong, whose real name is Jeremy Williams, says Frost told him he needed mental health help for working in the adult industry, and that he would “face consequences” if exposed. John Mayer graces the cover of the newest issue of Rolling Stone, sexy and shirtless, the title of the profile “Dirty Mind, Lonely Heart.”

The most beautiful man in the world, Ryan Phillippe, spotted smoking – literally and figuratively – in rainy Los Angeles, California, while wearing a tee shirt raising awareness for the Haitian earthquake survivors.

Not that Morton isn't a complete asshole, but that Twitter account is fake. It's not really Ted Morton.

Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if he did say something like that.

Like you Adam, I somehow believe that Ted would say something like that, hidden, perhaps, behind a fake Twitter account.
