According to the Globe Gazette, Mason City, Iowa's paper of record, State Senator Chuck Grassley issued a statement late Friday regarding the Anti-Homosexuality Bill, saying “based on what I’ve been able to learn about the legislation and from the standpoint that I’m a born-again Christian, I can tell you that I don’t agree with this un-Christian and unjust proposal, and I hope the Ugandan officials dismiss it.” Grassley’s announcement is noteworthy if only because the Senator, despite denials, is thought to be involved with the Ugandan parliament because of his connection to The Family, the political action committee that masquerades as Christian fellowship.
