A Young Gay Ugandan Couple, Senator Grassley Condemns Ugandan Bill, Online AIDS Quilt, Neil Patrick Harris And David Burtka, Francisco Lachowski

Uganda’s Daily Monitor profiles the heroic and remarkable Val Kalende, a 27 year old lesbian and her 25 year old partner, Ms. Kalende explaining why she is scared, her struggles, and her words humanizing the horrific Anti-Homosexuality Bill.

According to the Globe Gazette, Mason City, Iowa's paper of record, State Senator Chuck Grassley issued a statement late Friday regarding the Anti-Homosexuality Bill, saying “based on what I’ve been able to learn about the legislation and from the standpoint that I’m a born-again Christian, I can tell you that I don’t agree with this un-Christian and unjust proposal, and I hope the Ugandan officials dismiss it.” Grassley’s announcement is noteworthy if only because the Senator, despite denials, is thought to be involved with the Ugandan parliament because of his connection to The Family, the political action committee that masquerades as Christian fellowship.

The New York Times reports on those lost in large numbers to AIDS in the eighties and early nineties who continue to live on thanks in large part to social media sites like Facebook, creating a kind of online quilt.
