Jersey Shore’s 27 year old Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio, he of the pierced penis, dismisses criticisms that the MTV reality show traffics in grotesque racial stereotypes, saying “I don’t ever remember guido being a bad thing. I’m proud to be a guido. I’m proud to be Italian. I love it.” Pauly is also apparently proud of that pierced penis, offering to pose for Playgirl full frontal.
Meanwhile, his Jersey Shore cast mate, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, says the idea that the show propagates negative images of Italians is, well, stupid, Sorrentino saying and I quote “this is what happens down here. It’s not a definition of the East Coast. It’s not a definition of Jersey or New York. It’s just a bunch of kids that happen to be partying and working and living together in New Jersey. Some of these people are trying to pretend like when you’re in your 20’s and you’re single you don’t go out and have fun. Or you don’t go out and get a couple of drinks. And when that happens you know there are gonna be a couple arguments. There are gonna be a couple fights. Life is not perfect.”
