According to the Park Press, Ashbury, New Jersey City Council Wednesday evening said that intend to pass a resolution in support of marriage equality, perhaps as soon as the morning of December 24th, Mayor Ed Johnson saying “I think this is part of the path forward.” Once passed, Asbury Park would become the fourth municipality in New Jersey to support same sex marriage, following Maplewood, Red Bank, and South Orange. Mayor Johnson, openly gay, married his partner, Jeff Lundenberger, six years ago in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and Asbury Park cultivates a reputation as being inclusive and progressive.
Police in Seattle, Washington have arrested a man wanted in connection to a series of anti-gay graffiti acts of vandalism. 31 year old Ryan Joshua Cox has been charged with five counts of property destruction. Cox, who suffers from mental illness, was arrested this morning.
