Bruce Springsteen Speaks Out For Gay Marriage, Reverend Mary Glasspool Speaks Out, Tom Brady And Gisele Bundchen Welcome Baby Boy, Alexander Skarsgard

On the eve of Thursday’s expected full New Jersey Senate vote on a proposed same sex marriage measure, the Garden State’s favourite son Bruce Springsteen posted a message on his website urging legislators to pass the bill, saying that “I’ve long believed in and have always spoken out for the rights of same sex couples and fully agree with Governor Corzine when he writes that ‘The marriage-equality issue should be recognized for what it truly is – a civil rights issue that must be approved to assure every citizen is treated equally under the law.’ I couldn’t agree more with that statement and urge those who support equal treatment for our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters to let their voices be heard now.”

The Baltimore Sun interviews Reverend Canon Mary D. Glasspool, who, pending confirmation, will become the first openly gay Episcopalian priest elected a bishop in the Anglican Communion, and who says that her election is both “a privilege and a responsibility,” and that she hopes “to facilitate a kind of liberation for people who have felt imprisoned in various ways, either by their sexual identity, or by the color of their skin, or the fact that they’re in poverty or whatever, that this is all part of God’s freeing up of the world and healing and reconciling of the world.”

People magazine reports “that there is another Brady in the bunch,” which is an awkward, obvious way to announce that Gisele Bundchen gave birth to a boy Tuesday night, a younger brother for Tom Brady’s 2 year old son Jack, whom he had with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.
