Archbishop Of Canterbury Questions Los Angeles Diocese Election Of Lesbian Bishop

The Los Angeles Times reports that the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, the spiritual leader of the worldwide Anglican Communion issued an immediate rebuke to Episcopal Church Leader over the election of an openly gay female bishop in the Episcopalian Diocese of Los Angeles, California. Williams wrote that “The election of Mary Glasspool by the Diocese of Los Angeles as suffragan bishop elect raise very serious question not just for the Episcopal Church and its place in the Anglican Communion, but for the Communion as a whole.” Williams, interestingly, has yet to comment at all on Uganda’s proposed Anti-Homosexuality Bill.
