Alberta Queer Allied Network Demand Change, British Couple Protest England Gay Marriage Ban, Sarah Palin Book News, Carrie Prejean Rides Crazy Train

The Queer Allied Network, based in Edmonton, Alberta, wants the province’s Conservative government to reverse the party’s recent anti-gay measures, and presented a work list of demands, including a request to repeal the ludicrous and offensive Bill 44 and introduce a new bill to revise the Alberta Human Rights Code, as well as a demand to reinstate gender reassignment surgery as a provincially funded medical procedure.

Tom Freeman and Katherine Doyle are protesting Britain’s gay marriage ban by attempting to register for a civil partnership, which is against British law. Under current law, an opposite sex couple may enter into a civil marriage, but not civil partnership, while same sex couples may only enter into a civil partnership. Freeman, who is 25 years old, said “All loving couples should have access to the same institutions, regardless of sexuality.”

According to reports, Sarah Palin’s “book” Going Rogue: An American Life, contains “just five chapters, but they are very long, some score settling with McCain aides, a hearty bashing of the national media, and a testimonial to the importance of faith in her life.” Missing from the book are both an index and any and all discussions of political prescriptions that might have appeared as an antidote from Palin to the politicians she so berates.

Carrie Prejean, anti-gay, anti-intellectual, purveyor of homemade pornography – who named with prompting Palin as her personal hero – appeared last night on the Larry King Live, promoting her book, and called a play from the crazy playbook, behaving so badly and erratically that she inadvertently gave CNN’s King perhaps the best professional moment of his career, or at the very least, the one people will be talking about for the longest.
