A men only group – The American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property – based in Pennsylvania is in Maine this week, spreading their message that traditional marriage is under attack and that non-traditional marriage (that would be gay, if you’re keeping score) is a direct threat to society because child need a man and woman to function and grow. The group, which seems to total three, also contends that couples who “shack up” and then marry at City Hall are not entering into real marriages, but, unfortunately, the ASFDTFP is not able to argue that issue while on their state visit.
On a much more serious note, Box Turtle Bulletin has comprehensive coverage and analysis of a threat made by members of two vehemently and violently anti-gay groups masquerading as Christians to march on Charlotte, North Carolina’s Pride Festivities beginning July 25th. The theme of the planned protest is "God Has A Better Way," which sounds seemingly innocent and innocuous, but is neither, and, in description, sounds more like a terrorist action.

That image prompted a neighbor to call the police and report that two black men were trying to break into the home. The charges have now been dropped, the city of Cambridge issuing a statement that the arrest was “regrettable and unfortunate.”
