Hawaii Football Coach Drops Faggot Bomb Behaves Badly, Ryan Lochte Wins Gold, Annie Leibovitz, Anti-Domestic Partnership Signatures, Taylor Lautner

Hawaii Warriors football head coach Greg McMackin said Thursday, at a college football preview in Salt Lake City, Utah, that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish defeated the Warriors in the Hawaii Bowl 49-21 because they did “this little faggot dance.” The comment was made in front of a number of reporters, and cameras. Moments later, according to reports, realizing what he had said, McMackin implored the media not to cover the use of the word “faggot” that the head coach used three times. He then apologized. Ryan Lochte set a new world record while winning a gold medal Thursday in the men’s 200 meter individual melody at the 2009 FINA World Championships in Rome. The previous record was held by Michael Phelps, who opted to sit out the race. Swimming Day Five - 13th FINA World Championships

A lawsuit was filed Wednesday in New York City against Annie Leibovitz by an art finance company - Art Capital Group Inc - that had lent the famed photographer twenty-four million dollars against the value of her works and personal properties, claiming that Leibovitz violated the terms of the agreement.

An estimated 137,689 signatures have been collected in Washington State by opponents of the state’s expanded and strengthened domestic partnership bill, some 14% more than is needed to place a referendum on the November ballot. The signatures need to be verified, a process that will take at least two weeks.
